timing belt change (mondeo)

    Hi i have a Ford Mondeo 1.8 TDCI Zetec 2007 newer shape.
    It has 55,000 mls or 90,000 klm,
    just wondering when the timing belt should be done?

    I'm not sure if that engine has a belt or a chain but normally around 60k should be changed

    The recommended interval on these is 200,000km or 10 years, so you are fine for a long time yet.

    And when the time comes make sure you check is the ones with the second belt instead of a chain below. Ford have no record of these:rolleyes:

    Some of them engines have two belts others have one belt and a chain. There is no need to replace the chain only the belts. When the engine is stripped down and one belt is visible there could be either a second belt or a chain down below behind the cover. Look, basically just highlight and copy this and show your mechanic:D

    Anyway you have a long time before you need a belt replacement.
