Decent MP3/Video player recommendations?

Hi All,

The other half wants a MP3/Video player for Christmas. I bought myself a sony x1050 16gb player a year or two ago and find it great. The videos are just on the odd occasion she gets a train/bus etc, so its mainly for music.

I've only really had experience of creative and sony devices (neither of us are fans of apple). This is one i was thinking of, any other suggestions without breaking the bank, battery life, size, screen quality, looks etc would all be important. Thanks in advance.

But thats a phone isnt it?

She already has a decent android phone, she just wants a separate device for music etc.

Yes it is, but it is superb as a PMP as well.

If she has a 'decent' Android phone, wouldn't it also function as a MP3 and video player?

I have a Samsung Wave phone and I use it as much for music playback as I do my iPod. It will also playback almost any video format available.

She has a Desire S, and I have tried to say that would work as everything but to no avail. I might give it another bash. I put music on it last week so maybe just by having it she'll start using it.

That has an LCD screen, the S2 has a Super AMOLED+ screen.
