I am using Facebook as Gaeilge...

I have this friend (for example):

    Paddy McCarthy
    3 comhchara

How would I pronounce that 'Comhchara' there now? I am thinking the mh is pronounced "w" because of the broad consonants, but somehow it sounds wrong to me...

I want to pronounce it with the "v" sound... is this a newly created word specially created for Facebook?

I could consult my dictionary I suppose, but I'm in bed and the lights are off and my dictionary is downstairs...:D

    I would say phonetically it's "co'xara"

Irish is very liberal when it comes to compound words and something like this is very natural. I wouldn't really look on comhchara a 'word' in the true sense of the word though.
