Out of everyone I know who admitted to using a dating website over the years, they all said they're are aload of bollocks (POF being mentioned the most)

There was always the same things being said: Alot of time wasters, weirdos, alot of people with baggage. But the most common thing was that if you are a man you can mail up to 100 girls (all personalised and detailed mails) and next to no one gets back, and those who do tend to stop mailing after a few mails.

Personally I think dating sites are more accepted than ever. But whats that old belief "you'll only meet assholes in pubs" - well I think the same people do be on dating websites these days as they are so popular.

Problem with the likes of dating websites, is that you're pretty much instantly judged on your looks. Out in a pub, if you have a bit of banter , act confident (but not cocky!) and are funny - you can pull beyond your looks.. But on the likes of POF, they'll just ignore you.

I've had better success in clubs / late bars. Internet dating is not for me.

Just joined for the laugh. Some people seriously do themselves no favors. Some of the pictures they use :O They could defo have better pictures of themselves and how they look. You do feel bad clicking no though, but more or less I click no on everyone, unless my exact type comes up(i.e unraaaaaail) I also click no on girls that I know I wouldn't be their type(namely blondes, but sure Im more of a Latina fan so its all good) I think I have the sort of douchy look that works well on sites like them. Its real life where my problem is. That could be one of your issues in regards to girls, your standards might be way too high and you're playing out of you league. That's grand and you could do it, but to punch above your weight you need to be able to have a laugh and show some confidence, or at the very least be able to talk to them.

Once you sort that out you'll be doing much better on that front I'd say.

Ye true, although it seems most lads tend to punch above their weight, but then they don't have the hangups I have.

Way I see it if I can manage to mold myself to resemble the picture that I used of me on that tagged site(has to resemble me in someway), Ill at least be able to get a good 8/10 latina. A push but live in hope.

Really though, I don't think I set the bar too high. I'm just attracted to who I am. I don't exactly get rejected week in week out I just never do anything about it. With me, a sudden 'reducing' of my standards won't see me approach them girls. Looks are a weird thing. I went out with the biggest nacker haircut like a year and a half ago. I looked like a proper twat, ended up pulling this seriously hot girl who came up to me and initiated it :O
