Compaq Presario Disc Needed

    Hi all,

    New to this so apologise if this has been previously asked.

    I have a Compaq Presario Laptop but it is over 2 years old. When I bought the laptop I was not given the installtion disc and unfortunately I need the disc now.

    Is there anywhere this can be downloaded for free as I paid over 500e for the laptop so feel I should have received the installtion disc at the time

    Is it drivers or Windows you need?
    Do you not have recovery partition on your hard drive? It would be the easiest way to restore original system. Check your computer manual to see how to activate/use it.

    I'm sure that your laptop's manufacturer can provide recovery disc. Not sure if it is free however.

    If above fails there are ways to get original system back, I don't think they could be discussed on this forum though.

    They will supply it alright, but would have to pay for it..
    Hopeing to get one from a friend who may have got the disc when they bought theirs as they knew to ask for it...

    Yeah I know there are other ways to get it.... But my non tech head not great for that..

    Era will buy it if I have to but prefer not to have to

    and what about recovery partition? You can access it by pressing certain key just after you turn computer on. I'm not sure but it could be F10 or F11.
    This option will restore your operating system

    What is your laptop's exact model number. Not any installation disk for Compaq Presario will do.

    Yeah, its F11.. But need the disc to restore it...
    A friend of a friend may have one for me so hopefully will be sorted...
