I have replaced the dash on my mondeo today. the new dash has a ASR light in it. Any way of getting the light off without going to a
    garage ?

By dash, do you mean clocks?

You could always take the bulb out. Each of the warning lights has a little bulb behind them.

In clocks 2001-2007 is no small bulb for ESP icon, it's LED solder directly to the board, you need solder out this LED or smash by snips, but don't join both pin's.

You have clocks from mondeo with ESP system, and on your car is no ESP, this is the reason why this ESP icon still on.

If you have prefecilft clocks 2001-2003 you must remove this LED. If you have after facelift clocks you can go to ford dealer and they can connect your car to service computer and switch off this ESP icon in clock software. Only ford dealer can do it this. But it can cost 100 euro, cheaper is take off this LED or buy new clocks.

Or you can fit ESP system in your mondeo ;)
