I rang yesterday afternoon @ 4.00pm. There was a recording saying that the UPC engineers were working on the problem. The recording is not there any longer (much like the channel)

This is the answer I got from Setanta sports Ireland page in Facebook..
"yes we are experiencing problems with HD channel on cable. We are working hard to resolve issue and hope to have it fixed very shortly.."

Its now wednesday and Setanta HD still isnt back up, instead they've put on the standard def channel in its place hoping that we're all too stupid to notice the difference.

Seriously though what kind off mickey mouse operation is UPC - (U)nreliable (P)oor (C)ommunications, they take channels off us earlier in the year promising to replace them with 5 or 6 channels of equal quality and they only gave us 2 of rubbish quality.

Their policy of treating their customers like idiots is a joke, sky dont need to advertise to try get customers back to them, upc are doing all the work for them in driving them away.

Yeah just checked it on 412 & it's only SD....

I posted before about them replacing HD with the SD equivalent channel, they replaced History HD with History SD in the hope nobody would noticed & I was given all kinds of excuses by posters on that thread

UPC seem to just take the p!ss when it comes to their TV offering.

I have posted on here that Sky is more expensive and I don't trust their accounts department.

I have however gone back to Sky.

I got Sky HD in two rooms.
I do not use the interactive stuff and most of the extra channels are pointless.

How the guide is instant and there are now 50 channels in HD.
The HD channels do not seem to run into the lip sync issues of the UPC boxes either.

If you can afford to pay a bit extra Sky is worth it.

It has already been pointed out further up the thread that problem is with Setanta, not UPC. It's very unfair to blame UPC for a fault that is with a 3rd party.

Slightly off topic but in the same vain - UPC no longer carry Setanta Ireland TV listings on their TV Guide - in fact 105 & 401 are not displayed.
Again the issue apparently is at Setanta's end.

As an aside, how many programmes are in HD on Setanta ? F1 & Premiership ?

Just checked 105, 401 & 412 are all showing full listings on the UPC guide?

UPC have to take a lot of the blame because of there lack of communication with customers when something is wrong, I don't think I ever received a reply to any email I've ever sent them....

I am referring to UPC online TV Guide - Setanta Sports Ireland has been removed (along with CityCh) after being blank for a few weeks
