In almost every EU country you have a choice of different petrols, where you can choose between 95 or 98 octane.

    In Ireland it's just "unleaded".
How many octanes does it actually have? Is it 95?
If so, what about cars that require 98 octane petrol?

AFAIK, it's 95. We used to have 98 sold as "super" or "premium", but I haven't seen it in years.

It's a pity as my car is recommended to run on 98.

95 Octane, but I usually use Silkolene Proboost anyway

Maxol petrol is pretty poor compared to Texaco's. Texaco has a little more oomf to it, at least in my little car.

Yeah, I've seen that octane on Maxol's website.

Lately, I've noticed Topaz advertise their petrol with a sign on their stations stating that their fuel gives more mpg (it shows figures) due to added chemicals, etc.
