4S - No audio on some outbound calls

    Hi all,

Has anyone had the problem with the 4S where on a number of outbound calls.. say 1 in 10 ish, you dont hear the call tone and the call timer starts off without you being able to hear the person you're calling?

Im getting this quite a bit and noticed the following on the apple community site, with 57 pages of people with the same issue.

    https://discussions.apple.com

I called Apple but the lad said he'd never heard of the problem. I was advised to restore the phone and see how that goes. He was sound enough so I'll just do that but I suspect its a hardware thing. I wonder is it something to do with bluetooth either as it often happens when Im in the car, or in the hour or two after Ive used bluetooth in the car.

I have a 3GS that I can use if the 4S has to go back but I only just realised that I cant swap the simcard back and I'll have to ring Vodafone and have the old sim reactivated if it has to go back to apple..

I cant see the engineers making 20 calls on it then to recreate the problem.
The thing is only 2 weeks old!! :(

Also happening to me!dont make many calls but it's a weird problem!

I've never used a Bluetooth device with mine so I doubt that it's a Bluetooth issue!

I turned off the bluetooth on the phone after I posted that and had the same issue within an hour. I havent been connected to the car kit today either so thats ruled out.

Yep it has happened me a few times. What has also happened is when I make a call there isn't a ringing tone and the call connects and the other person says hello.

My replacement iPhone arrived today so hopefully I've seen the end of the problem.

I had a call scheduled from Apple. The lady said that I should try a new micro sim and if the problem persists then to schedule another call and they will organise a replacement 4s

It's not the sim, I have the same problem. Popped my sim in my old 4 and no problems.

Called Apple this morning and arranged a replacement.

Yea I had a feeling that her asking me to get a new sim was kind of an excuse for replacing it straight out. I'll get a new sim tomorrow and ring again tomorrow night and ask for a replacement
