Broken indicator lights.

    Hi there,

A friend of mine owns an 97 Nissan Micra. It's getting a little old and things are starting to brake/fall off. I accidentally pulled off most of the handle on the passenger side door. The latest thing to go is the indicator lights. Both the indicator lights on the outside of the car, and the indicator lights on the dash have stopped working. I'm sure this is a fuse or something inexpensively replaced. It's the least I can do after pulling the handle off the door (not that it took any effort at all, the plastic just snapped right off in my hand). Anybody got any ideas.

    Thanks.

Just to clarify, any of the 6 indicator lights on the outside (3 right and 3 left) don't work, does it still make a clicking noise, do the hazard lights work when you press he switch?

Does the car have an alarm?

Hi Colm_mcm. Thanks for your help. None of the indicator lights on the outside of the car work. There is no indicator lights on the dash, and no clicking sound when she flips the indicator switch. The car has no alarm either.

She can't check the hazard lights because her battery is flat. Only found out that now. Sorry.

Flat battery could very possibly cause the indicators not to work too!! ;):D

On a serious note, get looking for fuses and bulbs first.

I suspect a dead fuse myself, but thanks for your help. She seems to think it's something else, but I don't believe she has actually tried to fix the problem yet, so who knows. I'll play around with the fuses, when she charges the battery, and hopefully the indicators will work.
