Steering question

Am driving a 06 Primastar which is going to need to get the clutch done

Lateley when driving wet or dry when I put the power on I get a light feeling at the steering wheel similar to when you hit a patch of ice, would this be an issue with the engine trying to deliver power to the wheels through a worn clutch

Second question, I am ringing around main dealers & euro clutch/ mr gearbox for prices. Anyone recommend garages on the northside of Dublin for this type of work that will stand over it.

    Thanks

They are very prone to worn balljoints and track rod ends. You may have play in one of those causing the steering to go loose when you accelerate.

A light feeling in the steering seems more suspension related to me. Could be when the weight transfers under acceleration revealing a problem in the suspension. I wouldn't think it's clutch related though.

Could be power steering related either.

Your classic slipping clutch results in revs increasing while roadspeed doesn't.

Bad tyres & wheel spin will give you this
