Hey, I just bought Thunder B grenades
    http://s411.photobucket.com/albums/pp196/arleitiss/Life%20Photos/GoingBAM/

that basically, and I havent used them before, so my question is:

When does timer start basically? When you pull out ring or when you pull out ring and release the handle? So can I like walk up to corner, pull out ring and hold it in my hand for like 20 seconds tighly until I see guys and throw it then? Also how do you suggest placing them on doors to trigger once door opens?

once you let go of the handle it pierces the c02 and the shell starts to expand.
It should go bang after about 15 seconds.

Pull pin, throw grenade, the arming fly lever opens, the hammer hits the pin, the pin hits the co2 cartridge, the co2 escapes, the casing expands, the grenade goes bang. You've 3 - 7 seconds depending on the type of casing. :)

I've seen them take a lot longer than 3-7 seconds though...

So as long as I hold lever tight it wont go off right?

Depends if you fill it,with flour/talc. Theres less space in the casing for the gas to expand so it will expand and blow quicker.

As long as you hold the spoon in place.

Fishing line (or whatever) from the pin to something beside the door so when the door opens it pulls the pin out and boom (It's probably safer to just roll them though).

On another note to make the grenade blow at a more frequent time frame you place a cent at the bottom of the tube to push the cartridge up further and to ensure the hammer peirces it and you can place plumbers tape around the top of the shell to stop the c02 from escaping. You can also score the sides of the shell, this will make the shell weaker and more prone to blow.

I wouldn't put flour or talc in the shell if your using it indoors, they make the floor very slippy.

Don't use them indoors to often, usually use the new style shells aswel. So the flour/talc isn't needed.

They are the old versions for some reason the new versions are about 3 seconds :) although first time you ever use one don't use it it game took 40 seconds to blow :( after the first it will be grand so let it off before the game or at controlled private land

Btw could I not just pull out pin and with that handle place it between door and well. so when user opens door the handle releases

yeah the new versions are great, all the fixes for the original are built into it. One of the lads used one in the warehouse before wit h the flower and the floor was mad slippy for around a week. Are they much use outdoors?

You could, try to keep it as low as you can though. I've seen them jump pretty high.

Just makes for a quick detonation, around 4-5 seconds maybe a bit longer. Instead of standing there looking at the shell expand waiting on the bang:)

As with all gas things I find it depends on the temperature.

I have used them "tactically" in the colder conditions (<10C). I was in a 2 story building with attackers about to storm the ground floor. I dropped the grenade out the window, in front of the door. They all saw it and ran back even though it didn't go off for 20-30 seconds. If I was really lucky they would have restarted the attack as the thing finally went off :)

Yeah some smart guy today put baby powder into grenade, it blew up on tiles, then next game was terminator, I was running and on those tiles I saw terminator wanted to stop but slipped and ended up being on my back.

Ah yeah I've seen duds completely destory front lines on many occasion, players with experience don't normally move until they see the grenade and hear the gas being released though this can be counter-productive sometimes.

Exactly, just make sure you don't do it and tell the marshalls about it so they can stop the other players from using powder in them.

These things happen dude, my first day skirmishing I broke my hand. I was up the following week with a cast on and never looked back, it's the fast stops/starts and turns that make you fall on slippy ground so if your running and you end up on a patch of wet/slippy ground just slow down (Don't abruptly stop).

Watch out for piled up bbs on concrete or tiled floors, they can be very dangerous too, we were cleaning up in the warehouse before and Kiwi broke his ankle slipping on them.

Yeah I fell 2 times , once was today on powder even after it was cleaned up it remained slippery, and another one on bbs on stairs, both of these times could be avoided injury if I wore elbow pads, but well they arent too comfortable :D

Yeah dude, sure I told you it took us days to get the stuff off the floor in the warehouse. Elbow pads aren't comfortable but it beat having fkd up elbow, just be carefull and you'll be cool.

Here's an idea, don't hold it in you're hand for 20 seconds unless you want a VERY numb hand lol Get a drill and drill 1 small hole in the silver inner core of the grenade, about a centimeter and a bit from the top. This will shorten you're fuse to 3/4 seconds.

Also if you score a small cut down the sides of the shells his will lower the chance of the grenade sitting there after thrown and not exploding, with everyone tip toeing around it terrified!

Just check if you have a metal washer instead of the plastic one on top of the core if you do then all these tricks will ruin your thunder B
