    To be honest, this is the kind of nonsense that derails sensible debate.

    You are free to disagree with others, but why call them arrogant because they hold to what is their sincere interpretation of the Bible?

    It is, I believe, a reasonable interpretation of the New Testament teaching that those who reject Christ will not be saved. So where is the arrogance? Surely it would be more arrogant for a Christian to believe the Bible is inspired by God, to think the Bible teaches one thing about salvation, but then to say, "Nah! I know better than the Bible!"?
    So as not to derail another thread I answering this accusation here.
    This started with;
    The expression I used of all unbelievers was that they "maintain some or other fatal objection to God". The Muslim's fatal objection to God lies in his rejection of God as offering salvation freely instead seeking to obtain his own righteousness through work.

    It's a fatal objection since it leads the Muslim to Hell.
    I replied;
    You don't know that.
    God gets to decide who will and who won't be saved. Which I for one am glad of 'cos the judgmental tripe posted here at times can be best described as "putting the mental back in judgmental'
    And received this response;
    God has decided that those not in Christ aren't saved I'm content to state categorically that I do know that.
    At this point my beliefs digress so far from this position that I had to respond
    Must be good to have gods ear.
    Arrogance of the 'chosen' is so unbecoming.
    I'm willing to go as far that if I put my trust in God He won't let me down. I don't seek any justification by an others damnation.
    I wasn't as reserved as whats here but seemingly robust debate isn't the done thing here.
    Now to the point.
    It is, I believe, a reasonable interpretation of the New Testament teaching that those who reject Christ will not be saved. So where is the arrogance?
    And thats the point, when you state who's going to hell and who isn't you wont get any sympathies from me you'll get the same standard you use applied to you, put an 'I believe; or IMHO, no problem but anything else smacks of not just arrogance but self righteousness.
    I cant understand why theirs this need to see others suffer to feel better about yourself and thats what that kind of posting suggests.
