Thanks for the replies! Looks like I'll just have to wait to get a credit card if I'm to get a hard drive at as low a cost as Amazon!

Most hard drive prices have shot up in price spectacularly in price due to the recent Thailand flooding, so most retailers bumped the prices way up due to the shortage, I think Western Digital arn't even shipping any quantity of drives at present. If the drive is not urgent and your willing to wait a few months (3-4) they should be coming back down in price :)

Thanks. They have some 7200rpm 320GB sata drives on amazon for around the 40 quid mark, so that would do me for a good while. I am also getting a 120gb ssd later today, so that will take the OS/apps. Would be nice to have something for music etc though

Get a moneybookers prepaid mastercard! Costs a tenner a year and you can top it up instantly with your laser card and there's no top up fees or spending fees. It only charges you if you want to take cash back off the card. Best thing ever.

Did you try Komplett? I found them the cheapest for the drive I wanted.

Just wondering how does the price of one small package holding the same goods through royal mail standard post cost can vary so much from seller to seller??
