    Lads

I got a call about horse running at Punchestown tomorrow 2.35 pm called Midnight Games owned by our own Michael O’Leary and trained by Willie Mullins, I am told they think this horse is a machine, price will be small enough but a winner is a winner in my book.

Winner practicaly fell at the last and the fav still could'nt win.

Small chance in the stewerds tho.

Yep, if this was England would prob bed overturned. Doubtful here though, they won't go againat the gamble.

Second fav looked all out the winner at the last though. And backed off the boards. I'm calling shenanigans on here

Yea the winner had it sown up coming to the last but just badly and landed sideways flat footed.

There 2nd was hampered a bit but I taught he went in front but the winner battled back.

I have'nt seen a replay tho l 'd like to see it again.

its 2/5 the winner or 5/2 ours on betfair at the moment.

after the last hurdle the winner bumped the second

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,016 ✭✭✭Hulk Hands

After the last. Winner stumbled into MG after hitting the hurdle. Russell should have done better imo. Still though, he got beaten a neck and was hampered. Should be overturned

Not good enough, deserved to lose but reckon wasn't fit, didn't find anything of bridle

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,219 ✭✭✭Goldcupfav

Dopey Davy at his finest on Midnight Game. With a decent jockey would have won by a couple.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,016 ✭✭✭Hulk Hands

Stewards in this country are a disgrace. Fair enough the winner was the better horse on the day but you have to jump and he hampered the second by far more than a neck

How? Winner travelled like a dream, nearly fell at the last and still won. Midnight had plenty of time after being hampered and still couldn't get past him. If winner didn't stumble would have won by over 5lengths

If it was a short run in it would be overturned but midnight had adequate time to overtake and wasnt able to. Always sucks when money on it but felt it was right decision

lol the horse was not good enough would be been beat 4 or 5 lenghts only for the fav stumbling on landing, talking threw yer pockets I think.

I didn't lose any money on the race. As soon as I seen the gamble coming on the winner I got suspicious and backed him to hedge.

The winner was much better on the day, ive said that. However, MG was hampered badly on the run in and was only beaten a neck. That hamper cost him a few lengths. Basic logic dictates that the result should have been overturned. It would have been in any other country.

Davy Russell should have has the quick thinking and ability to dodge hitting the winner after the bad jump. However he didnt and went straight into the back of the winner

Wouldn't be able to avoid him no matter what, if he went further right the winner still would have hit him

I didnt think that he should have got it in the stewards. I think that had he avoided the bump, that the winner would have got back up anyway. But I understand that that is debatable.

I cant believe the jockey is at fault here. Horse was well and truly beaten before the last and was being taken care off. He had nothing left after the bump.

I think you'll find its the same owners very good bumper horse from last year, unbeating and its second last race he won in nass then won very nicely in the curragh..... Thats the word

Raging about that, surprised it wasn't overturned. I was like a bear as I missed the race and then the result didn't come up for ages. Midnight found nothing and I don't think he liked the ground. Nothing Davy could have done and saying its his fault is ridiculous.

To say I lost my bollox is the understatement of the year, even had him in a big treble with Dynaste and Masterminded. Then to make things even worse my second treble had Scotsirish, Raptor and Oscar Whisky(who I also had a big single bet on), yet again a kick in the knackers and to make it worse I had Overturn, Oscar Whisky straight fc as cover!!

I assume the bumper horse you are talking about is Samain, really caught my eye last year and had a lump on him for the bumper but he never made it.

I'm not so sure the bump made the difference. MG was close enough turning for home if good enough (looked to be travelling much the best). He came upsides the winner before the last & found very little. The same was true after the bump. The winner battled gamely & MG simply refused to go past

It could well be a case that MG wasn't fully wound up, is more a 2 mile horse or is a bit ungenuine.

i think he was a bit unlucky to "bump" into a good 3m chaser in the making in a maiden hurdle. Went out to exposed any fitness and stamina doubts in the ground. Think both the first two are promising, and the third is one to put in the notebook.

if you check the records for racing in naas in the middle of feb, and again in march in the curragh there's very few bumpers there!! Its very well thoutht after, mick o'leary owns him. just could not be fecked looking true the results.... he's also UNBEATEN
