Was driving home from Dublin to Limerick on the m7 the other night in the rain which is bad enough without people coming up my rear (ahem) with their lights on full.

Do some people not realise that your suppose to dim your light when your behind someone or is it the fact that because they're on a motorway with no on-coming traffic to flash them that they don't realize that their lights are on full??:(

That is if they have working bulbs or even bother to turn them on.

I started counting yesterday evening on the motorway, and got to 10 cars with blown bulbs (front or rear) in 30 minutes.

Please gardas lash out the points and fines for the bulbs. Get those trucks outta the middle lane on the m50 too

I'm gonna say it if no one else will.
If people are coming up behind you on the motorway and not overtaking it's probably because you are in the wrong lane...

maybe they just dont want to overtake? they don't have to be right up your backside for the lights to be a pain

Im only driving a year but it seems to me more and more drivers are leaving their lights on full . I travel carlow-kilkenny most days and the numbers who dont dip their lights is shocking.

I can understand that everyone will forget to do it at some stage but getting blinded cause the idiot behind you has his lights on full is plain stupid and dangerous.

i was in the left lane averaging about 60mph,

but thats beside the point...when your travelling behind someone> dim your lights

Luckily I have a very bright rear fog light in the middle of the bumper. A few flashes and they usually get the message. Although there's always the odd one that remains oblivious.

Same as that. Then I start slowing down to annoy them.
