The independent mentioned it on Wednesday but no mention of the exact routes
    Wednesday November 16 2011
Ryanair will next week unveil a number of new routes from Knock Airport, with at least one expected to be to the UK and two others to continental Europe.

Taoiseach Enda Kenny will join Ryanair chief executive Michael O'Leary at the airport next Monday to reveal the new services, which are expected to come on stream for next summer.

In September, Ryanair celebrated carrying four million passengers to and from Knock since 1987.

Mr O'Leary said Ryanair planned to double the number of routes it operated at Knock to 24 over five years

they announced 2 tranches of new routes over the past fortnight already
with the majority of continental destinations being in Italy or Poland and in the UK awful awful lot of flights to manchester.

    and

a flight to southern germany to the west of Ireland would be welcome and lucrative for Ireland bound tourism, but if I was betting Poland + a sun destination in Italy or Spain would be what I'd put my money on.

EDIT. england is so small and so well served already from Knock and other Irish airports that its nearly irrelevant what they do there - compared to what flights to/ from the continent can do for west of Ireland tourism by bring new tourists that otherwise would have to travel 100s of km to get a connection.

Ryanair announce four new routes from Knock Airport
    Monday, November 21, 2011 - 11:18 AM

Ryanair have announced that they will open four new routes from Knock to Barcelona (Girona), Frankfurt (Hahn), Milan (Bergamo) and Paris (Beauvais) from April 2012.
    .....
Speaking in Knock, Ryanair’s Michael O’Leary said: "Knock Airport today celebrates four new Ryanair routes in summer 2012 to Barcelona, Frankfurt, Milan and Paris, taking Ryanair’s Knock routes to 14, which will deliver over 500,000 passengers and sustain more than 500 jobs in Knock next summer."

Joe Gilmore, Managing Director Ireland West Airport Knock, said: "We are delighted to welcome these 4 new 2012 routes to/from some of Europe’s biggest tourism markets. In 2012 Ryanair will deliver over 600,000 seats to/from Knock, providing low cost direct access for European tourists to the beautiful west coast of Ireland which will boost tourism in this region.
So no Poland but 2 sun destinations for the Irish in Spain and Italy and 2 connections from the continent bringing tourists to the west from France and Germany.

a little dissapointed that the germany connection was in Hahn that already amply served with irish connections to Dublin and Kerry rather than Memmingen (hour and a bit from Munich and 2 and a bit hours from Zurich) but happy for the west that theres more tourists on the way from germany nevertheless.
The cynical part of me sees it as an attempt by Ryanair to stop Lufthansa getting a better foothold in Ireland with their flights to Knock from Düsseldorf. That said, ryanair were that dear last year on Memmingen-Dublin flights that you would think you were booking a Lufthansa flight.

They've only replaced the Barcelona Reus with Girona so not really a new route at all.

The flights still aren't bookable on the Ryanair website. Wonder if they will have any good deals on them.
Thanks for the replies by the way.

Why couldn't they have left them in Shannon?

Gutted that the Reus flight is gone - used it several times a year since it was introduced 2 years ago. Ah well - twill be back to using Dublin for trips to reus. I go to spain maybe 4 times a year and certainly wont use Girona to go to southern catalunya. Ryanair probably wont lose my custom but unfortunately knock probably will. Pity cos it was dead handy.
