Problems with Android market

    Hi all,

I'm a bit of a technophobe but bought a HTC Wildfire a few months ago and last night tried to download my first app for it from Android market.

When I hit the buy button I got a message saying I didn't have an android device. The only details it only asked for before this was my mobile phone number, which I entered.

Is there some setting I need to change to enter my device type? Or, is there a better way of downloading the app than android market. It's the Garmin Fit app and the Garmin website redirects me to android market.

    Many Thanks

May not be supported on your device (I think the wildfire is an older, slower phone, and you may be stuck on android 2.1).
If you search for the app from the market itself, does it show up?

What is it with HTC and the android market.
I have a HTC Desire, with a year and a half. Good phone, except I could not power it off, without having to remove the battery:(
So a duly downloaded the updated software version 2.14.207.1 from HTC when that became available.
Great. Fixed my power off problem.

However, it removed the market download widget from my phone:(:( , which means I can no longer access the market for new apps!!

This apparently was a bug in the new software, about which HTC, are totally aware. BUT they have issued no fix!!
It's totally frustrating. Why the fcok, they cannot make a simple downloadable fix available from their website is totally beyond me:eek:

from your post it sounds like you are accessing the market via a pc?
if so, before you can install an app that way, you must first log onto the market from your phone.
at that point you will connect your google account and phone to the market.
you will also have to accept the terms and conditions.

after that you will be able to install apps via the browser based market on your pc
