If UK based, simply type in Speciazed bike into google.co.uk...

ive pretty much ruled out lbs as they will rip me off, im looking for a good frame and a 105 groupset, wont get that in my lbs's, im looking for online stores, crc, wiggle etc. that stock specialized, i know paulscycles has cannondales

Specialized don't allow their retailers to sell outside their own area so if you want one it'll be from an LBS whether you buy online or not. I think Cannondale have imposed this policy too, though I did get one from Evans in the UK a few years ago.

McConvey's up north may be slightly cheeky and sell within the republic but you're not really going to get a bargain if you want a brand name like Specialized. They have brand prestige to protect.

their loss i suppose :D plenty of choice out there, my local specialized dealer sells the allez with a sora groupset for 1000 euro so he can gtfo :D as for cannondale, these guys sell em.

any opinions on the cad 10?

I have a caad single speed frame that I think is caad7 or something. It's rigid as hell and handles nicely. You really feel the road though. If I was buying an alu frame for racing a caad10 would be near the top of the list, second only to a cervelo S1 probably, but if I was buying a frame for pootling along or doing long sportives I might be put off by the uncompromising ride. Probably not though. Lovely welds on those cannondale frames.

Are you going to be selling this bike on after you buy it or have you ever bought a canyon before ? Was thinking of getting a canyon myself to use for the winter.

I have to get the all clear from my doc ,before I go near a bike again. Only for that I'd have a new bike for now:mad:

I bought a Specialized from McConveys (for sale, see my adverts link) last year and they were grand to deal with. If you want to buy a Specialized in the UK, you can use these guys as a drop point in NI and they'll deliver to you down here for €22. http://www.deliverme.ie/ireland-delivery.html

    :D

never said under a grand but at or slightly above, anyway this is 999 euro, and the cad 10 im looking at is probably around 1200 euro, why would things have been cheaper in 2009? surely they would be even cheaper now right? its not like things have gotten any better in the country

Forme wheels are worse than poor. Those One23 rims are heavyweights.

How can things be cheaper now , the world economy revolves around the dollar . Shimano trades with the dollar. Shimano prices have been going through the roof for the past few years . The online retailers are only making 2/3 % mark up on Shimano goods to keep the prices within reason. Everything is getting more expensive every year , including bikes.

im not going to pretend i know the slightest thing about markets and the economy, but these day's you can buy a carbon framed bike for near a grand, as ive shown you with those two links a nice alu frame with a 105 groupset can be got for a grand or near it, most lbs ive been to have nothing near that for the price and seeing as i dont need them to service my bike whats the point in using them?

    From BikeRadar -

"The Vitesse has shed some mass since the 2010 model and a chunk of that is down to the change to Forme’s own-brand One23 wheels with cartridge bearing hubs. We’d like to see better tyres than the Kenda Kontenders here – they’re adequate, but not the grippiest in the wet. The wheels are fine, though – well built and laterally stiff."
