99 fiesta, rev problem

    As above,
    have just bought a 99 Fiesta LX 1.25 as a cheap runaround.
    When i clutch her, the revs start to rise slowly, until i clutch it again??
    Any ideas?

    look down at the back of the gearbox there will be a cable and an electrical connector follow the electriacl connector up to bulk;)head where it goes in to a triangular plug ,, disconnect the plug job oxo,

    Sounds like your idle air control valve.

    same thing happened mine when I had one. Simple job to fix, and about 50 euro from a scrappy.

    disconnect the plug and problems no more hopefully wont be iac valve if revs are goin up

    It's called a VSS vehicle speed sensor. It doesn't always solve the problem. Try it and see. It may also be the clutch pedal switch.
