    Oh sweet Jesus!

Is this going to be one of those videos where nothing happens except for an entranced smile on Ivan's face before he cries and falls to the ground with people cheering around him?

I'd love to see the blessed virgin appear, just to see what she looks like but I fear that this video will disappoint.

Yes a great turnout indeed. the Rosary began at 5pm our time, then straight afterwards the Vision of Ivan and now it is the Divine Liturgy being celebrated. I think after this Ivan will explain the message.

We gathered as a family around the laptop and prayed along right through :D

All Items brought to the computer will be blessed by Our Lady :D

    Ave Maria Most Holy Theotokos.

Thanks for the link Onesimus. just tuned in now. Quite a crowd, looks like standing room only. I've been to St Stephen's cathedral. It's big and holds a lot of people.

78 priests celebrating with the cardinal.

    Been watching it! :)

I had the privilege of attending an apparition with Ivan in Medjugorje a few years ago, awesome experience, despite what the impending scoffers say! :P

What happens exactly in an apparition? Is someone supposed to appear in front of people or just to this Ivan guy? not being facetious

Yes it's nice to see the Cardinal there amongst so many priests and believers in Medjugorje.

And Keylem yeah I have been to Medjugorje twice. I've been to both the visions of Vicka and Ivan within that time.

all that you will see on tv ivan will drop down on his knees, stare into space with a grin on his face , after some time he will tell you he has had a vision of st, mary . read out the message he has received .

Isn't the Incarnation and the Holy Eucharist miracle enough?

If the Holy Roman Church needs this sort of thing to reinforce it then it is in deeper trouble that it appears.

So how did the apparition work out? I presume the apparition is invisible to the cameras and every person there apart from the, presumably, unimpeachable Ivan?

How can Ivan predict a apparition?
Is the Virgin Mary coming to him beforehand an saying 'Hi, I'm appearing again tomorrow at 3pm' or can Ivan just call her when he wants her to appear?

    So, who appeared?

PDN as with all the the apparitions to the 6 visionaries she never appears to others. Even for a lot of Catholics we are divide on the subject, Church has not given approval.

However what is interesting is that Ivan and Cardinal Schoenborn were seen together.

Been reading a lot of what the Six have been doing and their message is very focused on what previous visionaries spoke about.

Don't expect non catholics to believe or understand it. Could be all a hoax... But up to now for me alteast I there does not seem to be anything contradicting what our faith already teaches us.

It is very important to point out that :

The Catholic Church strictly and emphatically teaches that Public Revelation ended with the death of the last apostle.

If and when the Church approves a private revelation, such as Lourdes or Fatima, it only signifies that there is nothing in them contrary to the Catholic faith, or good morals, and that they may be read without danger, but the faithful are never obliged to believe in them.

The Church has yet to approve the private revelations of Medjugorje, and untill then, there is no guarentee that there is nothing in them contrary to the Catholic faith, or good morals, or that they may be read without danger.

The local Catholic Bishop in Medjugorje and his predecessor, do not approve of the apparitions, that should be enough for any proper Catholic to keep a very wide berth from them until such time Church, as a whole, officially approves them.

Does she ever appear to the Pope? Given the belief that the RCC is the One True Church of Christ, and given the Pope's status within it, and given that she likes appearing to Catholics, I would expect her to be appearing to him more often than to the Joe Colemans of this world.

From what I understand, she appears to people and always has a message. Nobody can see or hear her except the recipient. If the message is so important, why not give it to God's representative on earth to distribute and smite him if he withholds it? I really don't get it.

So it's an apparition where no-one actually appears?

Not poking fun here - genuinely struggling to understand the concept.

It's private revalation only, i.e. just like if you had a personal vision/dream only you could see it.

Mary appears, but only to one person. Like when God appeared to Moses but He had him head up Sinai for a one on one rather than just appearing to everybody at the same time. It seems to be the standard protocol with incorporeal trips down from Heaven. Appear to one person and have them pass on the message to others.
    Not poking fun here

    Perish the thought.

So does the Church. Its not easy to believe. It all comes to ahead when you meet one of the Six, they are very sincere and convIncing. Each has their own mission. The message they give is whay true catholics already believe. What Ivan did today was the same as always, he claims Mary spoke to him. Same as the other 6.

It would seem that the local bishops were inept in regards to investigating the alleged apparations at Medjugorje, that the Vatican had decided to take over.
Medjugorje dueto its unique status of becoming a global phenomenon, may become the first apparition to be approved by an international Church commission, instead of a diocesan commission, being elevated to a higher authority for judgment and solidifying its special status in Catholic affairs. What is especially significant is that a commission under the Congregation for the Doctrine of Faith was assigned to the task of investigating the apparitions. This speaks highly to Medjugorje’s importance within Vatican circles and the international community.
The CDF has had a history of intervening with poorly conducted investigations on the diocesan level in Medjugorje. For years, influential Church officials in Rome have not been proud of how ineptly the events in Medjugorje have been scrutinized by certain local bishops. Therefore, even Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger himself, before becoming the current Pope, once played a crucial role in saving Medjugorje from incompetent and distorted investigations on the diocesan level, guiding the proceedings toward the more reliable hands of the Holy See.

So what's the big crowd for if they can't see anything? It's like watching someone watch a movie... that's invisible to you. Ah well, what can I say... Christians you know... party hard.

I would imagine, like many human events, it's a simple case of curiosity.

That and humans innate need and urge to seek God, doesn't make it real but doesn't disqualifies it either.
Someone used the term hoax, it's either real or a delusion rather than deliberate hoax.
But I doubt that people got together and decided "hey what this town needs is a good old fashioned apparition to boost tourist numbers" or " lets pretend we see Our Lady, We can go Bazinga! in about 30 years time LOL it'll be gas"

Well for a lot of Catholics there are these exact questions. Have they invented it for attention, money... Is it a hoax. Its their word. I suppose time will tell, truth and lies over time will out.

They have a very convincing infectious story, either they are amazing actors.. or its true.

What is strange is to see Cardinal Schoenborn lend his name to this movement .

What happened yesterday was historic... Cardinal + 70 priests and the visionary... This does not happen often in the Catholic Church.

Very forward thinking of them considering there was no such thing as an aeroplane in 1879 when the all night apparition occurred.

It's great to see censorship is still alive and well on the Christianity forum.
