Bunch of us did the McMillan 6 week 10k one back in the summer and it was brilliant, I loved it and it produced PB's all over the place from those who did it!

If I had working knee's I would be doing it right now :(

I used the BUPA programme for my first 10K - they have a range of programmes for various distances/abilities. I found it great (as a poor beginner!)

Any thoughts on it or a better one

Are you a beginner or an experienced runner? Do you need a programme to get you to 10k distance, or is it that you have run much longer than 10k before and want to improve your performace?

The BUPA site has training programmes for 5K / 10K / 10 mile / half marathon / marathon, for beginner, intermediate and advanced.

I've only ever used the 10K one, but found it good so I assume the others are as well... I only wish I was as good as the training programme :D

Americans tend to run 15k's rather than 10 miles:

Why do Americans run 15ks rather than 10 miles anyway?
They don't even use the metric system

Neither really, do a bit of running, have done 10km loads of times, but never in a race and trying to do a time, go running a decent bit but never tried to up the pace and see what i can do, so prob more to improve performance

Something like the Hal Higdon Intermediate 10k Programme sounds about right for you in that case. There is some speedwork and intervals but not too much as you would be pretty novice to this kind of work. At the same stage the Long Slow Runs go beyond 10k, so it is not assuming you have never run 10k before (most novice progammes would assume that).
