    Hi all,

Was in powers shop yesterday and they are running a special on all uk & ire meetings that if your horse wins at 3/1 they'll pay you at 6/1 ?

There is always allot of talk on this forum about finding value in the market but if a horse has a current market value of 3/1 and powers are offering 6/1 this seems like great value to me.

There t&c state you have to take write SP on your docket.

I backed two horses yesterday to try take advantage of this , the first won and but the second went off at 7/2 in the end and got a horrible run.

Any one else been able to take advantage of this offer ?

It's a good offer all right but it's only for €100.
Check the races beforehand and narrow it down that way but you'll always have a drifter or gamble that will effect the number of 3/1 on the day.

Yep, good offer. Doesn't just apply to 3/1, they change the offer around every day I think. It was 7/1 double the odds there a couple of weeks back, I got paid at 14/1 for Weird Al in the Charlie Hall

stupid offer, because you have to forego the option of taking a price.

    eg.
you partake in this offer because a horse is 3/1, ie. you don't take a price.
the horse gets backed into 5/2 just before the off.
it wins, and you get paid at 5/2, you've just lost 1/6 of your winnings.

That is true but also remember the other options
    (1) the horse drifts to 7/2 and you paid at 7/2 (an extra 16%)
    (2) the sp is 3/1 and you get paid at 6/1 so 100%.

    It's 5/1 today.

you get the 7/2 if you take a price anyway, just about every bookie guarantees singles (both early and show prices)

You do realise if you had any sembelence of cop-on you would wait until after the off to place the bet. Thus making sure the horse was 3's sp

This is all about taking that little extra gamble for double the odds.

The benefits massively out way the potential losses.

I really can't understand the negative comments to this offer. ok, it may be backed into 5/2 and you have lost 1/6 of your winnings but there is an equal chance of it going to 10/3 or 7/2 and then it's all positive.

Some people on here seem to have an awful attitude to bookies offering any sort of bonus or special to punters.

Remember they don't have to offer anything. We are all gamblers, they offer a price and we take it, this is just an extra cherry on top.

If you are worried about gambling a possible 1/6 of your winning I think you’re missing the point of a flutter. Enjoy it! It's meant to be fun!

Any 5/1 winners today lads ?
