    Wow , that's some ring.
    Where are you?
There are a few turkish jewellers around that make rings.
I got my wedding ring made in cork.

    That is absolutely stunning! Jealous!!!

There is a jeweller in Wexford that is supposed to be fantastic. A girl in work is getting hers made there. I don't have first hand experience of them but I will try and get their details for you.

Where did you get the picture? There is also a shop on etsy.com that make fabulous engagement rings. I'll see if I can dig out the link.

There is a guy on adverts.ie called Davie send him the picture and see what he says .
He made my ring for me as I could not find it in the shops and we found his price very reasonable.

You could maybe get it made (even in china or the likes) with the pave stones as CZs and then get a jeweller here to put in the main diamond? just a a suggestion.

Haven't managed to find that shop on etsy yet and my work colleague isn't back until tomorrow but I'll get those details up for you :)

Myself and my fiance used Martins Jewellers in Wexford, might be the same place the above poster is talking about? We desinged our own ring and it was custom made by them and we're delighted with the end result. They can take any idea / design and using CAD software can create a computer version for you to view before making the end product. Might be worth the trip down from the midlands?

If you're in Dublin at any stage, you could try this guy
    http://www.jewelleryrepair.ie/
He makes jewellery as well as repairs it, I got my wedding ring from him, very nice bloke so even if he can't do it, he'll more than likely be able to recommend someone who can. Very reasonable prices, although what you're looking for could be shocking expensive!

Voltaire custom made an engagement ring for us, Cubby O'Connor and Patrick Glynn also quoted. Glynn were the closest to the Voltaire price. There are a number of guys in the Powerscourt Town House on South William St in Dublin that custom make jewelry as well.

Thanks, ive been in touch with barry doyle and he can make it with a few adjustments to it, do u think 2k is enough on a ring or should i try stretch to get the one i want? i love this ring but then again i never had it on my finger, me i think its mad to spend over 2.5k on a ring in this "financial climate! bla bla bla, but what would be the average rate on a engagement ring?

Dolorous - thanks very much for going to the trouble of looking that up, its a american site and i wouldn't like to buy over internet, and what to buy in ireland, shop local and all.

Thanks everyone for your adivce :D

    Hi,

I recently got engaged and I have spent some time researching rings and shopping around. I have been to places in Dublin (many of which seem overpriced) and I have an appointment with Martin's Jewellers. I have spoken with Brian himself and he has sent me details of rings etc. His prices seem competitive, compared to Dublin at least. And he seems to be very knowledgeable.

Can you recommend him based on price and quality?

I would greatly appreciate any tips or advice.

    Many Thanks

    hi curlygal,
I definitely would! We're so happy with our ring we're going to go back to them for our wedding rings. Prise wise we had the same experience as yourself- we went to nearly every jeweller in the city centre and found them overpriced for what you got. Found Martin's prices much more competitive for what you got and we were both happy to be involved in the design of the ring.

How'd you get on? Did you go with the above ring in the end?

    Hi El Carlito,

Thats great. Thanks a million. Much appreciated. Have a good feeling about Martin's Jewellers. Think we'd prefer to make this important purchase with a local business too. Looking forward to our appointment : )
