Is it for a stove or an open fire? Because if it's for a stove you will need seasoned wood (Dry). You can tell if it's properly seasoned if the wood is dry and appears to be splitting at the ends. Buying in bulk will work our cheaper for you. Here are some suppliers who will also deliver, so have a look.

Thanks yeah its for an open fire. We got a trailer load recently for €160 but its nearly gone already was well seasoned and burned well but was too many small pieces and they burnt away very quickly.

I thought the sawmill only sold scrap wood. We got some here before but was all small pieces we used for lighting the fire.

Have you considered Turf? Good quality black turf is better that wood imo.

I don't know why we haven't thought of getting turf this year. We just moved into town from countryside and got turf every year there. God pregnancy brain is killing me :)
