    Hi everyone,

I am just wondering if somebody could help me out, someone bump into my car as it was part on the street and did a runner.

As it was in an estate, I suspect someone may have reverse of the drive and bump into my car and run away.
I would say they must have notice the bang based on the fact that the 2 doors are damaged and the driver door is now hard to open.

However I can obviously only assume since, do you know if there is a website or something at I could look and see if there is a cctv in that street, I doubt it but it is worth the try.

I won't use the insurance, or any garage to fix it, I could change the door if I can't bang it back.

The thing annoying me is that I park the car there very often there so I want to make sure if it is a neighbour he learn it is a bad behavior to run away.

So if somebody as a website, I am planning to go to the garda otherwise to check if they have access to a cctv.

    Cheers

    Good memory !!! :-)
He did happen on my day to day car a Clio. But the car does not matter, if it was happening on one of my classic I would probably have been doing some door to door for information.
So if somebody has a link of some sort I ll be pleased :-)

    Cheers lads

    This is in Stillorgan, right?

I think I know where you are and as it's so residential I doubt there's any cameras about. There may some on the N11 junctions beyond it, but nothing pointing towards you I'm sure.

None of your neighbours have any cameras up? Honestly I'd say visually checking is you only bet as Ireland don't really have a big government camera culture like, say, the UK.

Is there any paint gone from the door? Maybe you sneak about and see if any of your neighbours have "matching paint" on their bumpers.

I can see that I am well known. ;)

It is actually in Stillorgan, but not right beside my place it is in another estate nearby.

I was planning to have a walking around this evening, based on the damage on my car if this other car is in the area I should recognize it.

There is even no paint left in 2 area on the door, I think it could be a van or a trailer as well.

I had the exact same happen my car one time. It was parked outside my house, and the next morning the drivers door was nicely stoved in. Probably a taxi or visitor to the estate was turning their car and not paying attention. Very annoying. Its very hard to find out who is responsible!!:( Good luck!!!

We found a car which could be the one, but we are not sure obviously.
The scenario match on what I told it could be somebody reversing off his driveway and did not see the car.

I have not see the car as it is a mate whom just gave me the information.

How do you think I should approach the situation?
The gardai or go and talk to the owner and see what he said?

    Any opinion welcome obvisouly.
    Cheers

Is there any evidence? A witness or paint or something on the bumper?

Unless there's anything I certainly wouldn't go to the Gardai.

An approach to the neighbour might also be fruitless unless you know them and they are upstanding citizens who might accept responsibility. Otherwise, without evidence, you are likely to be met with a hostile wall of defence.

But if you have some paint matches or something - be quick and get a good quality digital shot of it before it's hastily removed!
