I can't find it in the store.

Yeah, I know, I had a link to click on.

    It's there. It's working. And.

    It's horrible.

Just out of interest, any benefits over the stock mail app ( which seems fine to me anyway ) ?

Dreadful app altogether. You'd have to be mad to use this over Mail.

I like the pull down to refresh feature. But apart from that it isn't great. I was expecting better.

the only reason i wanted this is for push and for labels. the push works, but there is no visual notification (in notification center or lock screen). just a sound and number badge on the app itself. having read the articles online about the re-release, i have discovered that i can use Exchange to get push gmail in the mail app.

also, after installing, i then had stocks and other apps i dont want in notification center appearing. i moved them out in settings, but they still move back into the list of 'allowed' apps everytime i quit settings. just tried deleted the gmail app and its the same problem. trying restore now... dont know if this is related to the gmail app or not.

None that I can see; quite hideous.

Downloaded it, tried it out, got rid of it. It would be okay, just okay, if you could have multiple accounts on it, but it only allows one. So the iOS mail app is far better IMO.

Zapped it. With Extreme Prejudice Aforethought.

It's pretty useful for searching for old mails - something Mail doesn't do.

    But otherwise...meh!

Doesn't it support Push notification for mail though?

Yeah, but push already works with Mail if you set it up as an exchange account. Works flawlessly for me. Where as the Gmail app doesn't support notification centre, which makes it kinda useless IMO.

I think for the lay user without an exchange account who'd still like push notifications, it could be beneficial. I don't use it as it doesn't integrate with Lockinfo, but I gave the app a whirl, and it's not nearly as bad as people are making out.

Doesn't support multiple mail accounts so my two work account emails and my personal email all run on google apps so this is pointless.

surprised at google too, and it's basically gmail mobile in a webview. very poor.

It was always going to be webview though, Apple don't allow people to create dedicated mail apps. Otherwise someone'd have done one long ago for GMail.

they allowed opera do a dedicated browser though so i don't really see why you couldn't do a mail app.

still though multiple account support lacking is very surprising or am i the only one in the world with 3 google apps accounts?

The Sparrow developers are working on an iOS version of their Mac email client. They seem pretty confident Apple will approve it.

    I actually kinda like it.

    Except this kills it.

This is what "they" said about browsers too, until Opera opened the floodgates.

Can't wait, sparrow is amazing on mac, very tweetie-esque.

I not mad about it myself. It looks nice and all, but it seems very heavy on resources compared to Mail.

Where's your Gmail contacts when you want to add them to a mail? All i can get when I press the + is a list of everyone I've ever sent a mail to and an option to add grom you phone contacts but I can't seem to see where the Gmail contacts are.
