Most Likely The Front Sight Holds On The Handguard What You Could Do Is Either Mount It Upside Down Or Get Another One (In Case You Want To Use Your Iron Sights Again) And Chop It In Half

Red dot, or magnified? I assume it's a red dot, since normally magnified sights are not affected by the front sight post.

You have a couple of options:
1.) Use an RIS/RAS riser mount (basically this is just a piece of RIS rail that bolts on to boost your sight over the front sight post)
2.) Use a carry handle + carry handle scope rail (does same job as riser mount)
3.) Replace front sight post with flip up sight, or RIS gas block
4.) (No offense intended by this) When using a RDS (Red dot sight) you should be keeping both eyes open - this means that your other eye imposes the dot on your target i.e. no replacement is needed. Most people still close one eye to look through a RDS.

Don't think you can mount a front sight upside down Ronan the pins are towards the bottom and fit into the cutout in the barrel, unless a new cut-out bit was drilled into the top of the barrel above the other holes it wouldn't work

I know some Barrels have a full circular cut out and a grub screw without pins (though not tested) could work?

also the front sight should stay there, the red dot should stay on the pin in the front sight. RDS' are only used for getting on target faster as you don't have to line up the sights, but generally the dots in the scope are adjusted to sit on the front sight's pin. Unless you really want it gone, remove it using one of the ways posted here :)
