Hello again we've scrapped the idea of the Citroen pluriel pity as its a real nice car, but I had reservations about the owner of all things and not the car....

Anyway I've googled about this particular model......
    1.3 2010 15'000 KM Suzuki swift (05-10)
which I'm going to see tomorrow morning and its come up that a few things can be problematic...........
+ the gears can give problems going from 1 to 2,
+ a rattle in the dash, which means all the dash has to be open to tighten rattle
    +ABS system failure
    +Bushes need to be replaced
    +Rattles in the door frame

These seem to be worst case senarios, so with that in mind

Has anyone drove this car and what are your thoughts on it......

because the thing here about the former Yugoslav republics is that a warranty here has about as much value as a bog roll from dunnes stores.

I know you guys like to give about about simi etc, but seriously be thankful that you can have recourse to an organization like it and also that you claim to small courts etc...... cos here forget about it.....

My sister had one. Was a great little car. Peppy, comfortable, drove well, good spec and nice enough looking. She had no problems. She traded it in after quite a bad crash and it stood up well in it. Was repaired and the only reason she didn't keep it was because of the crash. I have years of gearbox problems but I do not know how widespread it is.

Wife has one since 2006, she got it new. No problems with it, had a few recalls because of the gearbox, nothing that cost her money.
    She loves it.

    Thanks epm and paparzarro,

From what I am reading online the swift is rated very high it even won car of the year in japan I think it was (open to correction)

Its just where I am I have to dot every I and cross every T when it comes to paperwork and warranty and then get that crossed checked by a notary, or a lawyer/judge if you're Mafia. I know, I know, Mafia dont drive Suzuki Swift's
However Eastern mafia sells them ;)
Italy is a country with a mafia, former republics of yugo is a mafia with countries........ that's the simple way of putting it.

And because this is the 2010 old version model.... changing gear does seem to be a big factor in this model so I am wondering if this is the reason the guy is selling it.
Any way I will know more tomorrow when I see it....
    Thanks again

I had a 2007 one for 4 years. Never a moment's trouble with it. Gearbox was perfect and the car had over 40000 kms when I sold it to my brother in law.
Build quality was good for the price and the car was very comfy on long journeys. Get a good one and you won't regret it. :-)

My wife had a 2006 from new till July this year.
    No problems what so ever.
Traded it in for a 2009 'attitude' model.
Nothing but problems with the gear box,
Take off in 1st, but runs like its in 3rd.
    Eventually fixed under warranty.(3 visits)
Note: Problem only surfaced when car was warm.

I've had an 06 model for over 2 years now & had no trouble whatsoever. There's well over 105k's on it now and i think all i've ever had to change were tyres :P

    Rattles
There are problems with the windscreen, glovebox & passenger / driver doors rattling. Tightening a few screws & adding some foam can sort them out.
