I have a hotpoint washing machine that wont drain the water after any cycle. Someone suggested it may have something to do with a filter. can anyone shed any lght on this?

You will have to check the "fluff filter" usually on the front at the bottom, sometimes behind a clip on panel. Unscrew the cover and the filter will come out.

Best if you can pull out the machine and tilt back to 45 degrees as the water will spill out.
