astra 1.4

    im looking at a 04 1.4 astra the newer model this evening for a friend...can anyone tell me are these newer astra with the 1.4 engine are they handy on juice or how are they? is just because i had the same engine astra bout 10 years ago and wasnt long getting rid again as it was a guzzler on petrol, so are these new ones the same? i think with the car i had the car was to big/heavy for only a 1.4 engine but maybe things have changed with the newer models

    Hi OP,
    I have a 04, 1.4 newer model Astra and can say its pretty good on petrol! I used to have a 1.1 car before so going up to the 1.4 it wasnt a huge different on petrol when filling up!! If only price of petrol would drop, now that would be a great help:rolleyes: Also to add the engines are much better, they no longer have a timeing belt but a timing chain so much stronger:)
