If you start a business or go into partnership with someone which works in the background and you still have a full time day job..

For the purpose of filling in forms etc, is it considered self employed because there is no in between status..??

If you are in business, either alone or with somebody else, and there is no "limited company" involved, then you must pay tax as a sole trader.

You add your income from the business to your income from your job (where you are an employee) to get your overall income for tax.

You complete self-assessment through the revenue website.
