    Hi all,

Never really tought about this before but was out for a few pints last night with some of the lads and one of them who's girlfriend is not working nor has she for a while, plays a fair amount of online slot machines on Ladbrokes.

He was saying that in the past 4 weeks she's has won over 5k and she's not pumping in 100's a day he said the odd 20 maybe twice a week.

She's starting to get worried that the revenue are gonna knock on her door and starting questioning her.

I know this isnt the case but is she allowed take out as much as she wants ie if she wins 1k every week for 6 weeks, does she run any type of risk?

    Cheers

If shes not working i'de be more worried of the Social Welfare coming looking for her, i dont think she has to pay tax on the winnings as it was won via gambling, and alot of the online sites are regulated via the isle of man gaming commision, not Ireland, hence no online gaming tax, but if shes claiming social welfare she could be in trouble for having money like that when shes effectively claiming on reasons of having no money and they could screw her over by saying, you should be out looking for work and not playing online slots etc. But it would be very hard for them to even catch her unless they asked to see her bank statement or something, if she is getting winnings sent back to her credit card well then they wont know....

Even if she was getting dole the best thing to do would be withdraw money from shops and not through her account.

She's allowed do whatever she wants with her money if she was getting dole, but if it's coming out through her accounts it could affect her eligibility for certain grants and housing rights as they would ask for a year's worth of bank statements and seeing thousands being withdrawn would do her no good
