    Fit like fowk?

I hope you don't mind a Scot posting on your forum, but I am a fellow Celt I suppose!

Anyway, I collect old Masseys, and am currently restoring an old 1967 MF 130. I understand that there were more 130's sold in Ireland than Scotland, so can any of you point me in the direction of a source of second hand spares? Maybe you know of one sitting in a field somewhere. New spares are few and far between because it was made in France, and shares precious few parts with the 135.

By the way, it's really refreshing to read a farming forum that doesn't only contain posts from knuckle-draggers bragging about their new high HP tractors and machinery.

    Keep up the good work.

Welcome to the forum. I hope you find it useful.

In my life, I have only ever seen 1 MF130 -and I have seen a lot of tractors. I think you will find that they are a rare tractor over here too, but hopefully someone on here might be able to help you.

Marlyman is someone I know who has a lot of knowledge about vintage MF's. It might be worth your while sending him a private message on here.

    Also search www.donedeal.ie

It there is one for sale in this country, its most likely that you will find it advertised there.

    Have a look through this Catalogue;
    http://www.qtponline.com/cat_mf.html

MF130 is listed as having an A4.107 Engine with 4 Cylinders & made in France as you say. Company is based in Mullingar.

Thanks for the got of confidense. But when I see a 130 I run the other way. Quickly. Like homer Simpson from a diet coke. That said all of the bits are available second hand or new . Pm me what you need and I should be able to get it in 3-4 days.

Yes, there are a few about but I haven't found anyone breaking them over here.

I have tried all the usual suppliers, but they only stock the common items, the parts I'm after would only be stocked by MF or from a breakers.

I drove a new one in 1967, so I know what I've let myself in for!!! If looked after, they're not as bad as people think. Just like the FE35, they had a reputation as bad starters, but not if set up correctly.

    Anyway, thanks for the replies.

Well it's definitely not a vineyard model, just a normal 130, and it is also missing the parts I need.

Worth trying John Conaty Tractor Parts, Silvan Park, Kells, Co Meath.
Phone 00353 46 9241178. He is a pretty big breaker of all makes but also a lot of Massey's (but don't be too surprised if you have to wait on the phone to be served - its a busy place)

Also try this link to the Sparex UK website. They only list 85 matches for the MF130 and i assume most of these are parts which are common to the MF135. Sparex also have a company in France so maybe might have some of these parts listed - worth a call?

Anyway best of luck trying to source parts for your MF130
