I became a good customer of on-line shops like oxendales.ie for a while...

Apart from that, I'm not aware of any shops that specifically cater for trans people. They shouldn't have to - there are plenty of laws to protect you, not to mention that the shop desperately wants the euros in your pocket anyway.

Last weekend I went to get my first few outfits with my mam and my bro's gf,we're all pritty close and I felt safe,Instead of shopping alone watching your back all the time, try going with some good friends who understand.I even tryed on some shoes and i didnt seem to get any funny looks, after all it was pennys and who really gives a crap but still, safety in numbers.hope this helps

For anyone needing shopping done, I do that as a service for people.
There is no barrier to anyone buying ladies clothes provided if in the opposite gender you do not ask to try them on.. Under the Equal Status Act you are protected and as Deirdre has pointed out money is good where ever it comes from in these times..and that's always a big help... Shops don't want bad publicity either and that goes for other establishments as well.

    (Harsh but honest mode.)

I've you're transsexual and wish to live as a women then you have to develope thick skin and not give a damn about nosy people. :) Go to charity shops or Pennys to decide on your look and size without spending too much cash. The people behind the desk will soon forget you and starting thinking about their next cigarette break.

If you're a cross dresser on the other hand then there's plenty of online places where you can get clothes discreetly.

As Louise touches on there, I can't see ANY retailer really finding it too odd if a man is buying women's clothes without trying them on; they're going to assume you're buying them for a partner and they're definitely not going to give any hassle.

There's always the probably slightly nasty choice of Tesco Extra who really, REALLY won't care....

I work in retail and men buy womens clothes all the time and vice versa.

    Don't worry about it.
