Seems like a decent deal, especially if you want something small and dont have a ton to spare atm or it would make a nice stocking filler for crimbo.

Ah, I was just coming to post this too! An hours tattooing in Dublin Ink for €55 - doesn't mention what the 'surcharge' per hour is after that though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,194 ✭✭✭saa

If the time goes over even by twenty minutes will they charge for a whole second hour

about other charges it says "Does not cover additional tax, service charge or gratuity"

Tax 21%? tip not sure what would be appropriate I wouldn't want to insult someone by not tipping enough, curious what the service charge would be?

So after that it might be closer to 80 perhaps

They charge 110 an hour normally.

    Hello!

Has anyone been tattooed in Dublin Ink?
My bf is looking to get a tattoo extended and I was thinking of treating him.
Theres also a deal on at the mo which give 55% off an hours session here.
Just wondering if this place is any good or should we steer clear?
Its probably going to be a black piece.

    Any help would be great.

    Thanks :-)

You pay the €49 for the voucher, then its €110 per hour every hour after that! Really good deal!

Go in and check them out, I found them to be very helpful and I liked the atmosphere there.

I think any additional time will be charged at the usual rate of €110.
So did anyone get tatted up here? If so, were you happy with it? How complex was the piece?

I have seen some reviews saying place is clean, atmosphere is nice and thats all well and good but I wanna know more about the quality (or possibly lack of?) of their work........

    Hi,

I got one of the coupons and had a chat with johnny there before I did. I wanted to get a coverup done on a ****ty old tattoo that I have for years. Dropped in and had a chat with Johnny and Shane they were very helpful I must say. they went through the pros and cons of a cover up and then we went through the removal of the old tattoo. I will be getting a large over shoulder, chest and arm Saumari Armour shield style with my own design on it. They then went through that If I wanted to get a direct coverup over the orignal it would be able to be seen unless the new tattoo was basically a black block. So I have gone down the removal route of the old tat as I want the new one to be perfect. They were very impressed by the idea of what I want. "although you might guess that they would as i'll be paying them a sh*t load to get the new ink done." So In my opinion they were very helpful but I haven't got any of the new work done yet. I have had 1 session of removal laser work done and it has almost completely removed the outline of the orignal tat.

Has anyone got any work done here and how have they got on with it?

Hopefully the thread will be a better reference to work done and not a slagging match as a lot of the other threads on here have turned out.

Checking their portfolios would be your best bet: http://www.dublin-ink.ie/gallery/

Anyone wondering about quality of work should check out the online portfolios or go in and have a nose around.

Yes, I have had a good look through their gallery. However, everyone seems to be missing the point Im trying to get at - This is the companys own website hence they are going to display their best work etc, I want a personal opinion from a customer - either you were happy with the tat because....... or unhappy with the tat because........

Sorry im being pernickety, just want to make the right choice and dont wanna end up with something poor quality.

This is my opinion also. You are not going to display the DUDS on your website to attract customers.

    Thanks for any input.

My persona experience of them is not grat to be honest, now the work itself i was happy with, but theres a big but i was going in for a cover up was told no problem we can cover that and itll take a bout 6 hours working out at about 600 euro i was like.

So get there on the day he starts the tattoo then decides he cant cover it, after hes started, does 6 hours work charge me the 600 with the tattoo only half fin about another 5 to 6 hours work left on it and tells me it will only take one or two lasers to fade my tattoo enough to cover it up a year later im still getting lasers and still have a half fin tattoo on my arm.

Although the work was good im seriously considering finding another tattooist to finish it off. Original estimate was 600 now after that and roughly 7 to 8 laser removal sessions and about 5 hours work left to do on the tattoo im well up over a grand i dont mind paying for quality work but heres taking the piss to.

Just out of curiosity... What if one got a tattoo that took 20 minutes.. would they charge you for 20 minutes? I guess what I'm asking is do they have a minimum rate that they charge?

Generally yes. Whether your actually tattooed for the hour or not you are charged for the hour as there is the set up and breakdown of the area taken into consideration.

Anyone used one of these since? Got one of the vouchers for my fiancée as a stocking filler and she's trying to plan what to use it for... can't afford to pay for additional time at the moment.

Posted on another thread but I though I'd share here as well!
I am now finished with Dublin Ink and had the single worst experience of my life!
I've had tattoos done in 2 different countries and this was the worst tattoo pallor ever!
So I bought 2 vouchers for 1 hour tattooing (one was a gift) after doing my research, of course. We booked an appointment but had to cancel (a week beforehand) due to unforeseen circumstances and here is where the whole think kicked off so the person I spoke to said that it would be no problem blah blah ans I asked to reschedule he said that he couldn't because there were too many people in the computer and asked to call back when we came back into the country, I thought it was a bit strange but ok . Then I get a call the day before the original booking asking if we were still coming in, of course this was highly unusual since I had cancelled but the guy apologised and rebooked us straight away. Saturday 4 pm. Saturday comes, excitement grows and we head into Dublin ink. So we get there and find out that not only was our booking for 4.30 but they were running, possibly, between 2 to 2.30 hours late and he asked if we had had anything to eat as it is better to get tattoos with a full stomach. I though, WHAT?? 3 hours waiting and patronising much???, though, for some reason I said ok that we would come back. After talking a bit with my partner we decided that this was too long as we had a 3 hour wait plus another 2 to 3 hours tattoo for him and 1 hour, maybe more, for me, after he was done. So I got greeted with a "Oh we are sorry but this is the nature of the business" Now, after seeing like 8 people behind the counter I refuse to believe that:
    1. No one can pick up a phone to warn the customer
    2. No one knows the meaning of time slots and punctuality???
So then we asked for our money back and was told to come back the next monday to pick it up (oh, forgot to say that this was a grupon voucher).
Actually showed up tuesday afternoon hoping that they would get their sh*t together and was greeted with a ah it will take 24 hours so tomorrow. I said enough is enough and called the manager and he said they post the money to me that day. Waited until friday and nothing called again and was asked to wait a bit longer if not the manager would deliver the money personally. Again and nothing. Called and finally true colours came out when was told that "if it is such a big deal then you can come in next week and the money will be waiting".
So here's to you Dublin Ink, it is a big deal and this is not how you treat a customer. It might not have been much money to you but it is my money and time you are wasting.
I would advise everyone thinking about getting a tattoo in this place to think about it long and properly before you commit your money, time and body to these messers.
    Rant over!
    Thank you for listening...
