looking for i3 laptop 400e-ish

I know you can get a first gen i3 for that(370m etc) but would prefer a second gen like 2310 if possible.

anybody know any good deals? or sites?
ive just been looking on saveonlaptops so far

If your trying to stick to the €400 mark then getting a last gen i3 might be your best option.

Stick "i3" into the search bar to get a ranking of all the i3's and you'll see the last gen actually beat the respective Sandybridge models, so on a tighter budget it isn't a bad choice.

This one comes in just under the €400,
Toshiba i3-370M 4GB RAM, 320GB HDD
Or some cheapish Sandybridge laptops,
Asus i3-2310M 4GB RAM, 320GB HDD
Lenovo i3-2330M 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD

Looked on Dell and Komplett and can't find a better deal.

I didnt think the last gen would beat the second gen like that, so they are better than the second gen???

What advantage would a 370 have over a 2310 or vice versa?
seems one would want the first gen?

that toshiba would be ok I suppose? are they a good brand for it? ill look up that laptop for reviews i guess.

Those are benchmark results so don't take them too seriously.
They won't accurately represent real world usage, but it's good to have a nice ranking of all the processors.
And when you look at the 370M with the 2310M there is almost nothing separating them anyway.

Personally I would prefer to the a second gen Sandybridge model, but if you don't want to spend over €400 you might not be able to get a laptop with a Sandybridge CPU.
Sandybridge has a much better integrated GPU, so that should be a consideration too.
If possible do try get Sandybridge CPU as it will be a better all-rounder.

And yeah, reviews is the way to go

I was looking at the site earlier and I think those were the best laptops I could find in that price range.

There is a few Acer there too, but I would prefer a Toshiba laptop.
At that price it's a great deal.
