You need a UHF antenna/aeriel. At present Saorview isn't available through satellite. Saorsat will be (satellite transmission for those who can't get a signal from an aeriel) sometime next year.

You'll need to be pointing your dish at a satellite other than what your Sky dish is looking at however.

More info here. There's loads of detailed conversation on Saorview in the terrestrial forum.

UPC carries all channels available on Saorview other than RTÉ News Now, RTÉjr, RTÉ1+1 and RTÉ Two HD.

Sky carries all the TV channels available on Saorview other than the above.

RTÉjr is just a simulcast of the RTÉ Two block and then the same programmes repeated again on a loop. RTÉ News Now is available online if you really want to watch it.

If you are not missing Analogue TV then your are not missing Saorview. It's simply the digital upgrade for Analogue signals on an aerial. Like Sky happened on Satellite over 10 years ago and started some years ago on Cable and MMDS before UPC bought Chorus and NTL.

Cable, MMDS, Satellite and Aerial signals can all be analogue or digital. Only the electronics in the set-box or TV changes.
