Gas Flue extension required

Hi Folks,
I'm looking for a bit of advice. I am in the process of getting External wall insulation. I have gotten my gas meter moved and the work is starting next monday. I have still to get the Flue extended. This now seems to be an issue. The boiler i have is still working fine but supposedly the type of boiler is not made any more and i cant seem to get a flue extension for it. I have looked on the net and my gas guy says he has run out of places to check.

The boiler is a Glow Worm Economy Plus 40F. The insulation guy says he cant carry out the work until the flue is extended. The gas guy says the only solution is a new boiler which i cant afford as i have extended myself for the insulation.

Does anyone have any leads on were i may find one or another solution to my problem?

Even if someone could tell me how to get the correct part number for the flue it would be a great help.

Talk with CF Quadrant in Dublin, they are the Glow Worm distributor and should be able to give you guidance

was in c&f few days ago and in came two insulation guys to buy a flue for a gloworm boiler
checked the one on display to see how to attach it
I know suppliers have to make money and sell a product but they should have the same duty of care that an rgi has .

Totally agree. But they might have had an RGI lined up to do it.

don't think so as they were saying 'we will do this and we can try this '
I might be wrong , just it pissed me off at the time

@andy2die4 Thanks very much for this. I mailed them and they dont have the part. They too reckon i wont get it. I believe the insulators have come up with a work around that will be within safety regs, they are getting it checked before they continue.
