Car Jumps When Accelerate

Sometimes when accelerating the car will splutter and jump for a second. Never happens in first gear, rarely in second but when im gaining speed around 3rd or 4th and sometimes in 5th it can jump. Doesnt happen whole time, just now and again. Do i have something to be worried about?

Have been to garage few months ago and they said nothing was wrong but its not normal for a car to do this so does anyone have any ideas what it could be?

    What car is it?

Does it happen when you're changing gear?? or letting the accelerator go in a sudden manner?

What car is it and does it have a turbo?

Mitsubishi carisma. No turbo, no modifications, just an ordinary car. Press the accelerator and keeping the same pressure through out sometimes theres a little jump.

Could be a plug lead, possibly a coil on the way out.

Sounds like a slight misfire alright, could be a hard one to trace if its so slight.

    Where the plugs changed recently?

No i dont think so. i dont think its ever needed much attention anytime i get it serviced. This "hiccup" is the first thing ever to go wrong with it.

It will still have needed spark plugs:eek: Maybe start with a new set of plugs so.

Hah sorry to alarm you there. unless it was something big that needed fixing i wouldnt have taken much notice. Im sure the garage mechanics would have checked all them last time but no harm in double checking it again to be sure. Thanks.
