Just got a silver upgrade from 02 which means i have to pay €199 for a new 4GS if I stay with them. (i currently pay €40 a month with 2GB down load)

Meteor and E-mobile are offering them for free on most packages. I think 3 mobile are €139 for a 16GB model on the lowest package.

Just looking for advise on who would be the best to move to from 02 as I can't justify paying 199 when other networks offer the phone free of charge.

    Many thanks

I'm intending moving to Meteor when it's time for the iPhone5. I'll have an upgrade in Feb but I'm paying 40/month too right now for the 2Gb download package. The problem is that o2 in their wisdom are now just giving out 150mb/month for 40 euro. Also, to get my tethering back and 2Gb with them would mean I'd have to be shelling out 60/month from what I can gather. I wouldn't be happy about that and I'd doubt I'd be getting a free iPhone 5 off them either!

Meteor used to piggy back on the O2 network, so the coverage with them used to be identical to O2. It's a few years ago since I was with them, so maybe it's different now.

I find VF good in terms of speeds. I get 3mbps ish in galway city and about 1 in the countryside. Fairly consistent too. They're not the best on terms of value and screw you for tethering, but technically they're quite good.

Don't forget O2 will let you keep your old tarriff if you ask!
Other networks might be cheaper but the lower you pay for the handset the longer the contract.

O2 is 18 month ... I stayed with them cause of keeping the old tariff (they allowed me keep sim-free tarriff too of 35) and the handset wasn't badly priced given length of contract

Three. Hands down. Unlimited data, free tethering. Use your units like you do at home in other countries that have 3, very handy for the UK.

The only problem is 3G signal, it's a bit hit and miss outside populated areas, so just check before you sign up.

Get a 3Pay sim and have a good trial with it first. If its bad with 3, its bad. if its good, its great......
