    Hi,

I did a backup on my laptop as it was very slow.
Everything went fine, ...... except .....
from time to time, I open a site, I can enter the homepage but when I try to
enter a sub site I get this messsage

    Windows Internet Explorer
" Internet Explorer cannot open the internet site."
    followed by http://xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
    Operation Aborted.
When I click the OK button, it reverts to the standard

" Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage
    Most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.
    The website is encountering problems.
There might be a typing error in the address.

    What you can try:
    Diagnose Connection Problems
    More information "

It does not happen all the time, and for no apparent reason.

    Any ideas / solutions ?

    Jay

Did you reformat? If you did did you reload all the correct drivers? Wifi etc. Sounds like a connection problem caused by software, could also be a problem with your internet connection. Try setting Google DNS up and see if things improve!

    Hi,

    I did it via Dell.
The online " service " they provide.
I assume that it was " complete ".

It seems to be some sort of security problem / conflict ?

    Thanks

I've no clue about such a service, but I'm guessing it was some maintenence program was run, have you tried the DNS I listed above?
