I've found the complete opposite; having just switched from Vodafone. At one stage I had to double check I wasn't on a WiFi connection.

Just did a test and got 3 meg from 2 bars of 3G. Although I have found that sometimes I need to hit a link twice before it loads.

Would you not try a free PAYG SIM first before committing to a contract?

Sorry just realised it Pay As You Go :P I just thought that there is very little point in getting the iPhone if i dont have unlimited internet?

A pay as you go SIM card, to see what service is like in your area. Stick a tenner's worth of credit on it, and check that the service works for you. I was all set to go with Three until I did this, and realised that the coverage at home was crap.

Edit - I just mean to confirm that the coverage is as good as you're hoping for.

To be honest Eoin, I have WiFi at home & in work and my day to day driving could be to anywhere in Ireland so I haven't really got a way to find out if its suitable without giving it a go, well apart from Boards.ie :P
