Signed for Endura racing today !!
Surprised he has stepped back to Continetal level TBH....
Thought he rode well enough for Sky to justify staying at World tour level, or at least Pro Conti
That said Endura looking like a really strong team now

I have a man crush on russ that was enhanced when he won ToI in the fashion he did!!

Definitely deserved another year or two at top table.. Had some very good results for Sky.

As you say, endura are a serious outfit & are getting into bigger races every year!!

He ll hopefully open a door or two for them also.

Hope he goes well- I'm sure he'll be super-motivated for 2012....

agreed, I'm also surprised he couldn't find another protour team (and that sky let him go in the first place). He seems pleased enough himself with the move though. Thats the main thing. Best of luck to him - I've always had great admiration for him and wish him nothing but the best.

considering his luck with some of the teams he's been with (the linda mcartney team springs to mind) great to see him get a ride

He got shafted with the Healthnet team as well a few years ago. Wastold he didn'tneed a working visa for the USA by the team,Customs disagreed and AFAIK he's barred from the US as a result (was for a few years anyway).
I think he was also left high and dry by the DFL team some years ago which folded on the cusp of the new season.

Delighted for him, SKY shafted him in my opinion. Looks like he found out quite late that SKY wouldn't be renewing his contract. Shows a massive lack of respect in my opinion. He'll do well with Endura I'm sure, for a UK based team they have a very good race programme.

New Endura signing, Ian Bibby, is a man to watch for next year too. If SKY were into developing 'home grown' talent (which they're not) he should have been on their radar. It looked like he was going to have a good ToB until he (spectacularly) crashed out.

Could perform a unique double if he were to win next years Ràs to add to his Tour of Ireland.

    Good rider. Plenty of heart.
