5/12 Multiswitch setup - advice please

    Hi Folks
    Looking for advice please...

    I have a SKY dish and Quad LNB with Sky+HD and a terr aerial.
    I am look to distribute to about 10 end points (in the same house) by way of a 5/12 Multiswitch and diplexers. I want to continue to run Sky in the main living room unaffected.

    I have been digging into this for a bit and it seems like the Spaun.de stuff stands out in terms of quality.(your opinion please).

    Looking at their catalog it seems all I would need to get this going are;

    the multiswitch on page 44, SMS 51203NF (842481)
    with diplexers on page 135, SEW 121F (871108)
    with terminating resistors (dont know if they come with multiswitch) on page 148 ASR 75/Set


    Would this be correct?

    Do you know who would be best to buy these from? I have seen some sites, but not too sure who is best.

    I have been looking at multiswitches lately and have heard good things about EMP-Centuri they are from the Czech Republic. Spaun come with a good reputation as well being German which always seems to asure good build quality. However the Spaun 51203NF is available through this link for €194 ex shipping. While an EMP-Centuri 5/12 P.146-UP is available through this link is only €83 ex shipping, and it will do practically the same job as the Spaun. Both support the use of quad LNBs as well as the regular quattro LNBs for multiswitches, you have a quad for the job anyway. The Spaun has a 5 year guarantee, the EMP-Centuri has a 4 year guarantee, so not much difference. Maybe German build quality does it for you but I would go for the EMP-Centuri myself.

    Also if you are running cables, you should run 2 cables per point and use quadplexers instead of diplexers. It will give you a terrestrial TV point, an FM point, and 2 satellite points for a PVR, using just the 2 cables from the multiswitch. I haven't seen any places that do them in Ireland, so check this place out, they ship to Ireland. You should really run Cat6 networking cables while you are at it as I can see most satellite receivers, consoles, or blu-ray players needing internet access beside those TV points. Check this recent thread for a discussion about something similar.

    I don't know anything about the terminating resistors but I would doubt you need them.
