Help updating firmware on ip4.

Selling my iphone 4 and I want to get rid of all my stuff from it. I've it jailbroken on version 4.1 and so I want to update it to latest firmware for the new owner, who's not bothered with having it jailbroken. Selling my iphone 4 and I want to get rid of all my stuff from it. I've it jailbroken on version 4.1 and so I want to update it to latest firmware for the new owner, who's not bothered with having it jailbroken.

I tried to download and update new firmware but right at the end it said there was an error and it coudln't be updated.

Anyone any idea how to go about sorting this out?

Try a restore to the factory settings and then try the update again. Restore it as a new handset which will wipe everything.

Ok, I restored to factory settings and then the apple logo just came up and nothing else. I put it in DFU mode and connected to itunes and clicked restore, but got the "3194 error" unable to restore message.

Ok, the way it stands now. the phone is in recovery mode. When i try to restore I keep getting the 3194 error and it won't restore

Any suggestions?
