Go Bus is only a tenner.

Is that return? Is it better to buy the ticket on-line?

It's a tenner to Dublin City, OP is going to the airport.

    Go Bus...
    Dublin Airport
    Single: Adult = €15, Child = €10
    Return: Adult = €25, Child = €18

I think Citylink is about the same.

It's best to book your tickets in advance because sometimes the buses can be packed, I know with Citylink you can buy the tickets in the office on Forster St. if you don't have access to a credit/debit card.

    > best value

It may even be Bus Éireann: right now, their online system is quoting me 14.25 for an adult single, Galway to Dublin Airport direct.

CityLink to have €1 specials, though, so may be worth checking depending on what time you want to travel.

Links to all options are on airport transfer options from Galway

GoBus is best as it has an onboard toilet and wifi, not to be used collectively :D

    As does Citylink.

The 1euro ticket bullsh1t has ended. Both buses have toilets and wifi on all direct services. Gobus is a Galway company, while citylink are run by some giant parent company in singapore.

    Buseireann takes ages.

On some of the gobus buses, There is a way to make the outside seat slide out into the aisle by an inch or two, very handy when extra room is required.

City link has a toilet? Surprised I didn't smell it.

    So why is Gobus better?..

Personally, I find their drivers to be more friendly, their wifi to be more consistent, and they leave/arrive on time.

    Others experiences may vary.

Their drivers are very obliging and polite...way better than Citylink and Bus Éireann drivers. If I am running for Gobus in Tara St I know they will see me and give me a chance. :)

I'm heading up to Dublin Airport next Tuesday to pick someone up; was shocked to discover that out of all three, Bus Éireann were the cheapest for a day return and a single for my friend.

Thing is, day return could well take all day with them. I'd go with GoBus every time.

Hmmm. Off the top of my head, I can't remember just how long it is, but I think it was somewhere in the 2.5-3(ish) hours range, so you could be right. Sorry I can't be more specific than that.

It's 3 hours on Go Bus except for one or two overnight that don't drop in Dublin city and then it's 2.5 hours. Bus Eireann are doing some type of code share with Go Bus these days so your Bus Eireann ticket might see you on the Go Bus anyway.

I don't think they're actually that integrated ... would be fascinated if anyone has actually experienced BE putting them onto a GoBus vehicle.

Would be worse if GoBus put me on one of BEs pieces of scrap.

This would seem to suggest it happens.

I always buy my tickets direct from Go Bus but I think every Go Bus I've travelled in over the last few months has had a big Bus Eireann logo on the side next to the Go Bus logo.

Yeah, I saw the PR too, and the ads on each others buses. Asked them about inter-operability and got a "not yet" answer.
