Hello all, I'm currently a fifth year student who wants to major in Geology at Uni, and then probably go on to specialise in a particular field of it, though I'm not sure which at the moment.
Anyway in careers class now we're each doing a project which involves researching a specific job and getting an interview with someone from within that profession. Since unfortunately I don't know any geologists other than my teacher I thought it'd be an idea to look on this huge forum for someone.

For the project I've chosen Environmental Geology, so if anyone on these boards would be willing to help out a potential future geologist I'd be really grateful :)

I have all the interview questions typed up so any environmental geologists/geographers that'd like to tell a little about their careers I'll email the questions and then you can just e-mail me your answers back, or it could be done via private messaging on this site (if that's even possible; I'm a noobie here).

    Thanks in advance
    -John.

Get on to the Geological Survey in Dublin, or alternatively contact the Geography / Geology department in whichever University is nearest to you.

You could also contact some environmental companies with geologists on their staff. I know for a fact that WYG in Cork, Golder in Naas and SLR in Dublin have geologists on staff. I can't give you names though. Alternatively, you could log onto the IGI website, take a look at their membership database and contact any of the geologists listed as being in the environmental side of things.

Thanks for the leads, although I got a potential interviewee who's due to mail me back some day soon...
