    Hi,
I am living in Leixlip and I am looking for a tri club close by.
I currently swim in Westmanstown GYM near lucan.

I started Triathlon last year and I am finding it harder and harder to train on my own. It would be great to be involved with a group.

If anyone has any suggestions it would be much appreciated.

Map of all clubs here Phoenix and 3D Tri seem pretty near by...

Thanks for that, I will take a look and get in touch with these clubs

Clubs would generally have members all over the shop but Pulse is probably closest to Lucan. They're based mostly in Tallaght/Terenure area AFAIK while 3D and Phoenix are more Northside. You see pulse gear cycling around Lucan/Leixlip all the time.

Thanks for that. I will check out their website and see what the story is.

    I'm a member of Pulse.
We do three weekly coached swim sessions in Tallaght & Sportsco, Ringsend (3 options & locations).
Weekly bike starts from Westpark in Tallaght and a couple various routes depending on distance.
We are affiliated with Sportsworld for mid week evening running (Rathfarnham), but again there's usually a weekend run in Phoenix park if interested.

To be honest you see the gear out in most locations.
I'm more Dundrum area and often see others out on bike etc.

Tallaght is pretty close to you so if you need anymore info send me a pm.
We've a training weekend down the country this week but if you want to come along to a bike or swim after that let me know.

I'd see main criteria for joining a club as:
    - ease of getting to coached swim sessions (we also did NAC last year and I went there too, not far either).
    - ease of weekly bike sessions
    - options for other training - running, training weekends, warm weather week etc
    - success of club
    - reputation/attitude

Pulse is a very friendly club with all abilities.

    Did I mention gear/club colours :)

New gear out now for 2012 too - we're now more black with red, looks slick :)

That map is very wrong. Phoenix is mainly northside.

ActivMultisport are based at the NAC so not too far from Westmanstown.

I can honestly say that if you wear our kit you won't fail to be noticed. I mean if triathlon was a fashion event it wouldn't involve the wearing of tight lycra anyway. :)

Ha, the new gear just about does!

Bit of a red blip and pocket on back is all.

So come on now, no excuses left :)

Orange and Black is much more flattering. Especially on a ginger like myself!

Does this increase in the black pulse kit mean you'll need to buy a new bike to match? Or just take a permanent marker to the current bike?

Ha. It is a bit of a concern isnt it :p

Would black electrical tape increase the weight much do you know?

Safe to say the Ridley is going nowhere thankyou very much!

I'll have to settle for the shoes and helmet being white to match lol :D
The tri suit was always black and red anyway so just less red now.
Oh wait my white legs match the frame also :D

And you do your intervals with us on the polo grounds during the summer. I could do both sessions at once, do your interval while on my recovery from club intervals and vice versa. It could work. :)

We do indeed, and I believe both our coaches are Jim also!! I'm be more interested in doing the recovery from our intervals followed by the recovery from your set. :D

50 metre recoveries are all the rage with us!

Cheers Fazz for all the info.
Would love to pop along to one of your swims or cycles.

    Thanks again.
