Having a look on adverts for a dish and box to get the basic uk free to air channels. No need for saorview .. I have a hd tv so it'd be a plus to get a hd box but im not bothered as its mainly for xbox..
My main question is: Can i buy an old Sky HD box and a dish and get these channels? Or is an older box required?
    Cheers :)

Personally if I lived in ROI and wanted FTA UK channels I would go for Freesat as it will give you these channels all on an epg. A Freesat box with a satellite dish pointed in same direction as for Sky channels will do the trick. AFAIK old Sky box without a card will not get you Five. BTW Freeview is UK Digital terrestrial television system not satellite.
